ABOUT RYAN FERNANDEZ

Right-handed relief pitcher that has pitched within the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals organizations during his professional baseball career. He was originally selected by Boston during the 23rd round of the 2019 MLB Draft. As a rookie in 2024, he finished top 10 in appearances, strikeouts and earned run average by a rookie reliever in the National League.

He is a graduate of Braulio Alonso High School. Shortly after graduating, he then enrolled into Hillsborough Community College.

He pitched one scoreless innings with three strikeouts while facing the San Diego Padres during his MLB debut on April 3, 2024. In the process of doing so, he became the second reliever in Cardinals history to strike out every batter he faced during his debut.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Tampa, Florida. He was born of Cuban descent.

He played alongside Nolan Arenado as a member of the Cardinals during the 2025 MLB regular season.
