ABOUT RYAN PORTEOUS

Veteran center-back and athlete that originally began his professional soccer career as a teenager with the Hibernian Football Club in the year 2016. He was later signed by Watford F.C. on a multi-year deal in January 2023. He has also played for the Scottish men's national team during his professional career.

As a child, he played within the Edina Hibs youth ranks. He also played for the Aberdeen FC youth academy.

Although he primarily plays defense, he scored his first career international goal with Team Scotland while playing against the Cyprian men's national team during the 2024 UEFA Euro Cup qualifiers. He and his teammates won the match with a score of 3-0.

He was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. He also has an older sister named Emma that plays soccer professionally.

He played alongside Andrew Robertson as a member of the Scottish men's national team during the 2024 UEFA Euro Cup qualifiers.
