ABOUT RYAN WESLEY ROUTH

Criminal who allegedly attempted to assassinate then-former U.S. president Donald Trump during his 2024 presidential campaign. The incident took place when he hid in shrubbery at Trump International Golf Club in  West Palm Beach, Florida. His trial is scheduled to begin on September 8, 2025.

He attended North Carolina A&T State University for two semesters in 1995. He later ran a roofing business and a shed building business in 2018 with his son.

He has been arrested on other crimes at least eight times. The motive behind his assassination attempt isn't known.

He is from North Carolina. His parents are  Daniel Wesley Routh and Marjorie Patton Fearing. He is divorced from Lora Frances Wilson, and has two sons and a daughter, Oran, Adam, and Sarah.

Some other people who have tried to assassinate a president include John Hinckley Jr. and Thomas Matthew Crooks .
