Actor who became famous for originating the role of Charlie Bucket in the Broadway musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He performed the role from April 2017 to January 2018. He was in a 2018 episode of House of Cards .

He played Michael Darling in a regional theater production of Peter Pan and Chip in a regional theater production of Beauty and the Beast .

He was in the 2022 film Armageddon Time . He starred alongside Anne Hathaway and Jeremy Strong in the film. He posts career highlights on his ryan.sell Instagram page, including movie trailers and posters and photos taken on set. In May 2022, he announced that he would be attending that year's Cannes Film Festival.

His younger sister Avery Sell originated the role of Natalie in the Broadway production of Mrs. Doubtfire . His parents performed in the Broadway production of Cats and also owned a dance studio.

He and Peter Ostrum have both portrayed the character Charlie Bucket.
