ABOUT RYK NEETHLING
South African Olympic swimmer who became the first to represent his country in four consecutive games.
He was a nine-time NCAA champion at the University of Arizona.
He won the gold medal in the 4×100m freestyle relay at the 2004 Summer Olympics and just missed out on a medal in the individual 100m.
He grew up around Bloemfontein, in the Free State province, South Africa. He got engaged to Sahar Biniaz in 2015.
He and Kristy Kowal are both medal-winning Olympic swimmers.
