ABOUT RYO KASE

Japanese actor who initially broke through with a starring role in the 2003 movie Antenna. He went on to appear in several prominent films including Letters from Iwo Jima , Restless, Autoreiji and Bel Canto.

He graduated from Chuo University in Hachioji, Japan in 1997.

He won a 2008 Blue Ribbon Award for Best Actor for Soredemo boku wa yattenai.

He moved with his family from Yokohama, Japan to Bellevue, Washington shortly after his birth. His father's name is Yutaka.

He was directed by Martin Scorsese in the 2016 feature Silence.
