ABOUT SJ PERELMAN
A renowned humorist and author, he wrote screenplays for the Marx brothers as well as short comedic pieces for The New Yorker. His more than thirty published books include Crazy Like a Fox (1944) and Acres and Pains (1947).
He began his career as a cartoonist and a humorist in the 1920s. The first scripts he co-wrote with the Marx Brothers include Monkey Business (1931) and Horse Feathers (1932).
He co-wrote the Academy Award-winning screenplay, Around the World in Eighty Days (1956).
He was born in Brooklyn, New York. He later married Laura West.
He was famous for collaborating with actor and comic Groucho Marx .
