ABOUT SAKYONG MIPHAM

Religious leader recognized as the head of Shambhala International -- a global network of Buddhist centers and monasteries.

He spent his youth receiving an education that emphasized religion, calligraphy, japanese archery, and horsemanship.

He has written four immensely successful books throughout his life, including The Shambhala Principle: Discovering Humanity's Hidden Treasure.

He was born in Bodhgaya, India.

He and poet D.A. Levy are both fervent Buddhists.
