ABOUT SAM SAVAGE
South Carolina-born fiction writer and poet who is known for works such as The Cry of the Sloth, Glass, and Firmin: Adventures of a Metropolitan Lowlife. His debut novel, The Criminal Life of Effie O., was written entirely in verse.
In 1968, he obtained his B.A. from Yale University . He later returned to Yale to become a doctoral student in philosophy.
He was selected in 2006 for a Barnes & Noble Great New Writers honor.
He had two children with Nora Manheim. Manheim's father, Ralp Manheim, famously translated Mein Kampf.
Both he and architect Robert Stern studied at Yale University.
