Sani Abacha

ABOUT SANI ABACHA

Military leader and politician who was the de facto president of Nigeria from 1993 to 1998. He was a ruthless dictator who was guilty of many human rights violations during his reign.

He went to the Nigerian Military Training College and Mons Officer Cadet School.

He claimed complete control over the government in September of 1994 and did not relinquish it till 1998.

He raised ten children with his wife Maryam Abacha.

He and Idi Dada were both African dictators who were accused of human rights violations.
