Sara Baras

ABOUT SARA BARAS

Female flamenco dancer and choreographer who was in the 2016 film J: Beyond Flamenco, by Carlos Saura. She has more than 140,000 followers on her sarabaras Instagram account.

She first studied dance at her mother's school from a young age. She then joined the company Los Niños de la Tertulia Flamenca and toured Barcelona.

She won the Madroño Flamenco award at Montellano in 1993 for most outstanding artist of the year.  She received the Premio Nacional de Danza a decade later.

She married José Serrano. Their son has his father's name. His parents are Concha Baras and Cayetano Pereira.

She and Angel Corella are both award-winning dancers from Spain.
