Mother of dancer Areana Lopez who would star alongside her daughter on the hit series Dance Moms . They were introduced as part of the Mini Competition Team in the episode "Mini Dancers, Big Drama."

She found herself in legal trouble in 2003 after being charged with heroin possession and driving while intoxicated.

She founded the company Kandi Kouture Dancewear.

Her son Jordan had open heart surgery at three months old and was dead for nearly an hour before being revived. She has other daughters named Maiya and Contessa.

Her daughter Areana did a solo on Dance Moms in tribute to her brother in the same episode that Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler made their departures from the show.
