ABOUT SELWYN COBBO

Professional rugby league footballer who plays winger for the Brisbane Broncos in Australia and New Zealand's National Rugby League. He was questioned by police in the summer of 2024 after allegations of domestic disturbance.

Cobbo was born in the Aboriginal community of Cherbourg, Queensland, Australia. At Murgon State High School he was the first Indigenous student to serve as the school's rugby team captain.

He has exceptional speed and pace, and over a period of 13 games averaged 125m per contest. He made his State of Origin debut in Game I this past June. In the final game, Game III, he suffered a concussion.

He is the great-great-grandson of the Australian Aboriginal cricketer Eddie Gilbert.

His Brisbane captain andĀ former premiership-winning halfback is Adam Reynolds He has also been favorably compared to retired rugby legend Greg Inglis .
