ABOUT SERENA RYDER

Canadian pop singer who earned her first Gold-certified single with "Stompa" in 2012. Her seventh studio album, Utopia, was released in 2017. She is also a painter and sculptor.

She first learned to play the guitar at age thirteen. Her song "Weak in the Knees" was a hit in 2007.

She won two 2013 Juno Awards, including Adult Alternative Album of the Year.

Ryder is an only child. Her father, also a musician, was a member of the band the Tradewinds. She was raised by her mother Barbara.

She performed the song "Broken Heart Sun" with Melissa Etheridge in 2011.
