Photographer who is known for his work in independent journalism from the cities of Moscow and Amsterdam. He is known for having won a Pulitzer Prize and contributes frequently to The New York Times and other media outlets.

He first started getting noticed for his photography work in 2015 when he placed third in the General News category of the World Press Photo Awards. He was then nominated for his first Pulitzer Prize in 2015 as well.

He is known for having won the Robert Capa Gold Medal for Courage and Enterprise in photographic reporting abroad in 2017 by the Overseas Press Club.

He was born and raised in Moscow, Russia.
