Defender who rose to fame playing in the Dutch Eredivisie for Ajax soccer club. He was on the team during their Johan Cruyff Shield winning season in 2019. He was named the U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year in 2019. He was loaned to AC Milan in 2022. His soccer fame has led him to amass over 1.9 million on Instagram.

He began his youth soccer career for Almere City's youth academy. He then switched to Ajax's youth squad in 2012.

He was named the Ajax Talent of the Year in 2020, before transferring to FC Barcelona. He became the first American to earn a cap for Barcelona during the La Liga and UEFA Champions League matches.

His mom is Dutch, and his dad is Surinamese-American.

He made his Barcelona debut in 2020 as a substitute for Jordi Alba .
