ABOUT SERGIO ÁLVAREZ CONDE

Goalkeeper who has gained fame for his La Liga career playing for RC Celta de Vigo since 2011. He became the squad's primary goalie in 2014 after serving as primary back-up.

He played youth soccer in Celta's youth academy between 1999-2004. He played for their second-tier squad Celta B between 2004-2011 before making his pro debut in 2011.

He led Celta to a semi-final finish at the UEFA Europa League in 2016-2017. He has served as the team's tertiary captain.

He was originally born and raised in Catoira, Galicia, Spain.

He and Hugo Mallo have played as teammates for Celta.
