ABOUT SHAMIR

Full name Shamir Bailey, he is a singer-songwriter who released a debut EP called Northtown before releasing his critically acclaimed debut LP Ratchet in May of 2015. He has released 8 full-length albums since his debut. In February of 2022, he released the album Heterosexuality.

He received an Epiphone guitar and began to write his own music when he was nine years old. He and friends formed a punk band during their high school years.

His single "If It Wasn't True" was named a "Top 25 Best Song of 2014 So Far" by Flavorwire. His song "On The Regular" has gained over 14 million streams on Spotify.

He was raised a Muslim in North Las Vegas. His aunt was in the music industry. He is nonbinary and prefers he/him pronouns.

His aunt introduced him to singers like Billie Holiday and Nina Simone .
