Sidney Cotton
ABOUT SIDNEY COTTON
Australian inventor, aviator and photographer who developed one of the earliest processes for color film.
He enlisted in the Royal Naval Air Service in 1915 and began flying combat missions.
He began flying spy missions in the years leading up to World War II and took secret aerial photos of German military activity.
He married actress Regmor Agnes Maclean in 1917. The couple divorced in the 1920s, and Cotton wed Millicent Joan Henry.
He was a close friend of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill .
