She attended Middle Tennessee State University for a year before winning a nationwide contest and playing Mick Kelly.
She underwent a double mastectomy due to breast cancer in 1990.
She was in a relationship with the legendary Clint Eastwood from 1975 to 1989. During their relationship, they appeared in a number of films together, including The Gauntlet, Any Which Way You Can, and Sudden Impact.
She appeared alongside Ernest Borgnine in the 1971 film Willard.
