ABOUT SONIA CITRON

Basketball player and athlete who was rated a four-star recruit and one of the top guards in her class by ESPN. In the year 2020, she committed to the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team for the 2021 season.

She played soccer as a child and started focusing on basketball in eighth grade. She attended the Ursuline School in New Rochelle, New York.

In the year 2021, she was named Miss New York Basketball as the top player in the state. In 2022, she was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Blue-Ribbon Panel Freshman of the Year. She helped the United States win a gold medal at the 2021 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Hungary.

Her parents are Yolanda and William Citron. Her father played basketball at Bradley University . She has a brother named William Citron and a half-brother named Kenneth Citron, who played baseball at Princeton University .

Niele Ivey was her coach at the University of Notre Dame.
