Spencer Howard
ABOUT SPENCER HOWARD
Right-handed pitcher that was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies during the second round of the 2017 Major League Draft. He was later acquired by the Texas Rangers in July 2021. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at California Polytechnic State University.
He was a four-sport athlete at Templeton High School in Templeton, California. At one point in time in high school he considered quitting baseball to play volleyball.
He made his official major league debut pitching against the Atlanta Braves on August 9, 2020 while playing for the Phillies. He pitched just over four innings and recorded four strikeouts.
He grew up living with his parents and his sister, Savanna. He is a native of San Luis Obispo, California.
He played alongside Andrew McCutchen during his MLB debut.
