Jazz and bebop drummer who worked with artists including Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald .
He grew up in Philadelphia and was one of the only white drummers to play bebop music.
He worked as a photographer when he retired from music.
He lived in Van Nuys, California in the Los Angeles area until his death.
He has toured with Miles Davis .
