Acclaimed Broadway and Off-Broadway stage actress who played leading roles in The Boy from Oz, Wicked , Anything Goes and The Cher Show .

At the start of her career, she acted in regional theater productions and also sang in several commercials.

She won a Critics Table Award for Best Actress for her work in Oliver! and a Drama Desk Award for her role in 9 to 5.

She starred opposite her husband, Sebastian Arcelus , in the first national tour of Wicked. They share a daughter named Vivienne.

Paige O'Hara voiced Belle in the 1991 movie Beauty and the Beast; Block portrayed the same heroine on stage.
