ABOUT STEPHEN METCALFE
Playwright and screenwriter who turned his play, Strange Snow, into the screenplay for the 1989 Ed Harris and Robert De Niro film Jacknife. His other screenplays include Beautiful Joe and Cousins.
Early in his career, he wrote such stage plays as Pilgrims, Loves & Hours, and Half a Lifetime.
His play The Tragedy of the Commons premiered at San Diego's Cygnet Theatre Company in 2011.
He was brought up in Cheshire, Connecticut.
His first film, Jacknife, starred Kathy Bates .
