ABOUT STEVE HAWKINS
Basketball coach who became head coach at Western Michigan in 2003 after previously serving as head coach at Quincy University. He served for Western Michigan until 2020.
He coached at Villanova Preparatory School in California.
From 1984-1987, he was an assistant coach at the University of South Alabama. He won the MAC West Division Championships in 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2017.
He was born in Ventura, California. His mother gave birth to him on a Friday.
He assisted John Wooden in in UCLA basketball camps. Jane Wild was Steve Hawkins first wife. He has three other siblings Edward Hawking, Mary Hawking, and Philippa Hawking.
