He was a winger in the lower divisions of Scotland and Portuguese football leagues.
He took over the Rovers coaching job for Karl Robinson, who went back to Milton Keynes Dons.
He grew up in Glasgow, Scotland.
David Bentley played for the Blackburn Rovers during their winning years, before Kean took over the team.
