ABOUT STEVE WOLD
Blues musician best known as Seasick Steve. In the year 2006, he appeared on Jools Holland 's annual Hootenanny. His albums include I Started Out with Nothin and I Still Got Most of It Left, Man from Another Time, and Sonic Soul Surfer.
He worked as a musician and recording engineer. He was a backing musician for Samuel John "Lightnin'" Hopkins.
He played bass in the band Shanti and also performed in a band called Crystal Grass. He sang on the first album released by Mike Love 's side project Celebration. He performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Grand Opera House in Belfast, and the London Hammersmith Apollo.
He was born Steven Gene Leach and took the name Wold from his second wife.
He knew Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix .
