ABOUT SYAHMI SAFARI

Wing defender who has gained fame for his Malaysian club career, including for the Super League squad Selangor since 2017. He won the President Cup with the squad in 2017.

He played in Sekolah Sukan Bukit Jalil's to begin his youth soccer career between 2012-2013. He later switch to Selangor's academy in 2015.

He earned the silver medal at the Southeast Asian Games with the Malaysian U-23 club in 2017. He later finished as runner-up with Malaysia's senior club at the 2018 AFF Championship.

He was originally born and raised in Kuala Selangor, Selangor, Malaysia.

He and Safawi Rasid have played as teammates for Malaysia's senior national team.
