Sydney Brenner
ABOUT SYDNEY BRENNER
Biologist who is recognized for a being a recipient of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He is widely remembered for his contributions to the research of genetic code, and other areas of molecular biology.
He began attending the University of the Witwatersrand at the age of 15. He later obtained a doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Oxford .
He proposed the competing American plan and European Plan which were models for the way brain cells determine their neural functions.
He was born in South Africa.
Both he and Lewis Carroll attended Oxford.
