Actress known for playing Dr. Sun Mei in the Syfy series Z Nation . She has appeared in series like Scorpion , Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders , and Jane the Virgin . She was in films including 2016's Isle of the Dead and 2017's Scumbag.
As a young child, she spent two years in refugee camps in Thailand and the Philippines before moving to Wichita, Kansas.
Her first screen roles were in two 2010 short films titled Gut-to-Go and Lie. She wrote, produced, and starred in the 2016 short film The Letter. She was a voice actress in a 2022 episode of Robot Chicken .
When she was a baby, she and her parents fled Laos and became refugees. Her sister was born in Manilla. Her mother is Tai Dam, which is a northern ethnic tribe in Laos.
She starred alongside Kellita Smith and Anastasia Baranova in Z Nation.
