ABOUT SYLVANA SIMONS
Dutch politician and television personality who became one of the Netherlands' best-known television presenters, having presented shows like Barend en Van Dorp, Dancing With the Stars and De Wereld Draait Door. She has also been a regular columnist for Playboy and Veronica Magazine. She became the first Black parliamentary leader of the House of Representatives in 2021.
She studied ballet at the Lucia Marthas Institute For Performing Arts in the Netherlands.
She presented Dancing With the Stars and designed all of the dresses she wore on the show.
She was married to Frank van Hoorn from 2003 to 2006. Her brother is fitness instructor Kenneth Leeuwin.
She and Daryl Somers have both hosted versions of Dancing With the Stars.
