Taylor Rees
ABOUT TAYLOR REES
American photojournalist and filmmaker whose work has been featured in prestigious publications like National Geographic. In 2015, she directed the award-winning documentary Down to Nothing, which chronicled an aborted ascent to the peak of Hkakabo Razi.
She graduated from Amherst Regional High School in Amherst, Massachusetts. She later studied at Penn State and Yale University.
Her work on Down to Nothing earned her Best Cinematography honors at the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival.
Both of her parents worked for the Forest Service in Idaho. She got engaged to renowned artist and climber Renan Ozturk.
She documented Alex Honnold 's free-solo climb of El Sendero Luminoso in Mexico.
