ABOUT TED HARRISON
English-Canadian painter best known for his landscapes of the westernmost area of Canada's territories known as the Yukon. He created many paintings and was the author of children's books, leading him to be the first Canadian artist-illustrator at the International Children's Book Exhibition in Bologna, Italy, and at the Otani Memorial Museum of Art in Nishinomiya, Japan.
He studied at the West Hartlepool College of Art before leaving to serve in the British military. After studying at the University of Durham and the University of Alberta, he became a teacher for roughly thirty years.
In 2011, he donated his personal collection to the library at the University of Victoria.
He and his wife Nicky had a son named Charles.
He created illustrations for poems by Robert W. Service , such as "The Cremation of Sam McGee" and "The Shooting of Dan McGrew."
