ABOUT TERRY LEVENE
Film producer, filmmaker, and marketer who is associated with films such as Deep Throat, Barbed Wire Dolls, Bruce Lee Fights Back From the Grave, and Doctor Butcher, Medical Deviate. He was known for working with absurd schlock cinema through the Aquarius Releasing company.
The office he worked out of for many years was located in downtown New York City.
The genre he worked most closely in, schlock cinema, refers to low-budget horror films. He produced 32 movies in the span of 30 years. In the tradition of other exploitation film mavens like William Castle, Levene passed barf bags to patrons of "Doctor Butcher M.D."
His parents owned a chain of movie theaters and moved their family from London to New Jersey when he was quite young. He had a daughter named Rachel with his wife Sarai.
The stars of some of his biggest hits include Bruce Lee and Linda Lovelace .
