Tess Gallagher
ABOUT TESS GALLAGHER
American poet and author known for Instructions to the Double, Moon Crossing Bridge, and other works. An acclaimed author, she was the recipient of both the Elliston Award and the Maxine Cushing Gray Foundation Award.
She attended the University of Washington. She published her debut poetry chapbook, Stepping Outside, in 1978.
She received two National Endowment for the Arts awards.
She married poet Raymond Carver in 1988.
She was influenced by Dylan Thomas .
