She won a $100,000 prize in a YouTube competition for most commented video. She has also gained over 360,000 followers on her tessaviolet Instagram page.

She was born in Chicago and raised in Ashland, Oregon. She has also resided in New York, Los Angeles, and Canada. She and her fiance Dante announced their engagement in December 2022. They tied the knot in October 2023.

She was going to move to Nashville with fellow YouTuber Shawna Howson , but Howson was unable to make the move due to visa issues. They moved to Canada together.
