Therese Kuoh Moukouri

ABOUT THERESE KUOH MOUKOURI

A prominent feminist and author, she is best known for her 1969 work, Essential Encounters, which was the first novel written by a francophone African woman. She also published numerous articles on the topics of race, gender, and politics.

During her time as a law student in Paris, she focused on children's rights activism.

Her essay, Les couples dominos, deals with the subject of interracial romance.

She and her seven siblings grew up in Cameroon.

She and Colette are famous French-language novelists.
