Nebraska-born pop singer, songwriter, and pianist. His popular debut album, Rise and Fall, was released in 2011.
He appeared on season ten of the reality television talent competition American Idol, finishing as one of the top two dozen contestants.
He studied business at Texas Christian University.
In 2014, he became engaged to longtime girlfriend Kylie and the two later married.
He was influenced by the music of fellow singer and songwriter Ben Folds .
