ABOUT TOBY SCHMITZ
Award-winning stage actor and playwright who earned acclaim for performances in Measure for Measure, The Great and Ruben Guthrie. He won Sydney Theatre Company's Patrick White Playwrights' Award for Lucky and the Australian National Playwrights' Centre/New Dramatists Award for Chicks Will Dig You.
He attended Perth's Scotch College before studying law at the University of Western Australia. He then trained as an actor at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
His most prominent television role was a starring role as pirate Calico Jack Rackham in Black Sails.
He was born in Perth, Western Australia.
He acted in the Judy Davis -directed Sydney Theatre Company production of The School for Scandal.
