ABOUT TOM GORDON

All-Star reliever known for his powerful fastball and hard curveball; he led the American League in saves in 1998 with 46 for the Boston Red Sox.

He played baseball at Avon Park High School in Florida.

He won a World Series with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2006.

His son Dee Gordon made his MLB debut in 2011 for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Hall of Famer George Brett was his teammate on the Kansas City Royals.
