ABOUT TOM MONAGHAN

Founder of the Domino's Pizza chain. He became an outspoken supporter of conservative causes. He was the owner of the Detroit Tigers for nine years.

He was raised by a widowed mother who had trouble making ends meet. He spent time along with his brother in a Catholic orphanage.

He grew his single college-campus pizza store into a huge business. He sold it to Bain Capital for an estimated $1 billion and became involved in philanthropic work.

He married Marjorie Zybach in 1962. The two had four daughters.

He was an admirer of Frank Lloyd Wright , and he built Domino's headquarters in the architect's famed Prairie School style.
