ABOUT TOMMY KIRK
Actor most famous for his roles in many beloved Disney films, including Old Yeller, The Shaggy Dog, and Swiss Family Robinson. He also played Joe Hardy on the TV series The Hardy Boys: The Mystery of the Applegate Treasure. He amassed over 50 credits throughout his long acting career.
He was born in Louisville and made his acting debut in a stage production of Ah, Wilderness! in 1954.
He was officially inducted as a Disney Legend in October 2006. His last role was Albert Kornfield in the 2005 film The Education of a Vampire.
He was one of four sons born to his parents. He publicly came out as gay in 1973.
He starred alongside Fred MacMurray in several films during the 60s, including Son of Flubber and The Absent-Minded Professor.
