Tomoyuki Sugano
ABOUT TOMOYUKI SUGANO
Former three-time Central League MVP that pitched for the Yomiuri Giants from 2013 until 2024. During his time with the Yomiuri Giants, he was named a NPB All-Star eight times. He was later signed by the Baltimore Orioles in December 2024.
Prior to his professional baseball career, he attended Tokai University. He was eventually taken with the first overall pick in the 2012 NPB Draft.
He struck out at least 100 batters in every year of his professional career with the Yomiuri Giants except for one. The only season that he didn't record 100 strikeouts was the year he had surgery on his pitching elbow.
He was born and raised in Sagamihara, Japan.
He played alongside Jackson Holliday as a member of the Baltimore Orioles during the 2025 MLB regular season.
