ABOUT TRISTEN NEWTON

Collegiate basketball player that first began his NCAA career as a combo guard at East Carolina University . As a junior at ECU, he earned second team All-American Conference honors. Following that season, he transferred to the University of Connecticut .

He was a four-year starter while at Burges High School. As a senior, he led his team to a Texas District 1-5A state championship.

During his senior year at UCONN, he won the 2022-23 NCAA National Championship after defeating San Diego State . In the championship match, he scored 19 points along with grabbing ten rebounds. He stands 6'5" tall and weighs just under 200 pounds.

He grew up living with his parents in El Paso, Texas. He is the youngest of two brothers.

He was coached by Bobby Hurley 's brother Dan Hurley while at UCONN.
