Trumbull Stickney
ABOUT TRUMBULL STICKNEY
Swiss-born poet and scholar who is best known for his sonnets. He published his Dramatic Verses in 1902; two posthumous collections of his poems appeared in 1905 and 1973.
He studied at Harvard University and at the Sorbonne in Paris.
He died of a brain tumor shortly after being offered a professorship in the Classics department at Harvard.
Born in Geneva, Switzerland, he spent his early years in Europe.
His poem "Song" became the basis of a major plot point in Robert De Niro 's 2006 film "The Good Shepherd."
