ABOUT TYLER MATAKEVICH

Linebacker who became the Big East Rookie of the Year during his freshman season at Temple University. He received First-Team All-Conference honors the following season in 2013.

He attended St. Joseph's High School, where he won two consecutive state championships.

He led the NCAA with 8.8 tackled per game in 2013.

His older sister, Ashley, was a track and field star at Sacred Heart.

He and NFL player Junior Galette both played linebacker for the Temple Owls.
