ABOUT TYSON BARRIE

Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who has played for the Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Nashville Predators in the NHL. He has also represented Canada on multiple occasions, including winning a gold medal at the IIHF World Championship in 2015.

He began playing hockey as a young child due to his father being a professional player. He began playing hockey as an elementary school student. He started his major junior career with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League (WHL) during the 2006-07 season. He was then drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

He became the Colorado Avalanche franchise's all-time leader in goals, assists, and points by a defenseman while he was playing for them. He often volunteers at hockey schools during the offseason. He was sponsored by Chilly Ones in 2024.

He was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He spent his childhood in both Canada and in Florida. His father is former NHL player Len Barrie. He has a sister named Victoria. He married Emma Rose in 2023 and they have two children together.

He made a guest appearance in the docuseries Justin Bieber : Seasons in 2020.
