French-Tamilian dancer, entertainer, artist, performer, Instagram star, online content creator, social media personality, and choreographer who is best known for her Hybrid Bharatham style of dance, which went viral on Instagram.
She didn't start dancing until age 16 when she took her first hip-hop class, but she immediately fell in love with the art form. She then took classes to train in classical Bharatanatyam dance, and in 2019 decided to mix the two and create her Hybrid Bharatham style. In May 2022, one of her Instagram videos went viral.
She was featured in Elle Canada magazine, choreographed for rapper, M.I.A , and won the STREETSTAR award for best dance video, all in 2024. She balances traditional Bharatanatyam dance from India with modern hip-hop styles, posting to Instagram under the handle usha_jey, where she has over 220,000 followers.
She grew up in Paris, but is originally of Tamil ancestry from Sri Lanka.
