Singer and actress most well known for her portrayal of Heather Davis in the hit CW comedy series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend . She has also appeared in episodes of Girls and Younger .

Before beginning her screen acting career, she graduated from New York's prestigious school Juilliard.

In 2017, she scored a small recurring role in the film The Big Sick .

Though often mistaken as South Asian, she is of mixed black and white descent.

In Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, she stars opposite Rachel Bloom and Vincent Rodriguez .
